About Us
Protection Against Search and Seizure (PASS) is a justice initiative focused on civic education, committed to preserving one of the most fundamental protections in the United States of America: the right to be secure in one’s person, home, papers, and effects.
At a time when surveillance technologies are expanding, law enforcement powers are broadening, and constitutional boundaries are blurred and increasingly tested, the Fourth Amendment remains a critical safeguard against unchecked authority. Yet many citizens are unaware of the scope of their rights or how to assert them when it matters most.
This initiative was created in 2015 to close that gap. In times like these, understanding and defending the Fourth Amendment matters more than ever. Everyday people must distinguish the difference between knowing their rights and learning the importance of how to better protect themselves by exercising their rights.
Through public education, community outreach, digital resources, and advocacy campaigns, we provide evidence-based academic research, with clear, practical guidance, informing individuals that they can lawfully protect themselves by simply exercising their rights. Our technique translates complex principles into accessible knowledge, empowering people to make informed decisions in real-world encounters with government authorities.
PASS is introducing a novel approach to Fourth advocacy. Rooted in the belief that unalienable rights are not mere privileges granted by the state, but inherent rights guaranteed by the protections of the Constitution.

Accountability: We stand by our education; while advocating for transparency, more lawful conduct, and respect for basic fundamental rights and constitutional limits.
The paramount duty of the government is to protect the people, but when the government fails to protect, the people have the right to protect themselves.
